Day 7: Visit the Corban Estate Arts Centre

Set on the site of the historic winery buildings, the Corban Estate Arts Centre is a great place to explore art and the surrounding park-like grounds.

CEAC is home to artist studios, galleries and exhibitions, art classes for adults and youth and children, a well-stocked gift shop, and their very own cafe.

I visited CEAC with my good friend Anna and we parked up in the old concrete block as you enter the Estate.  The imposing industrial vibe is perfectly complemented with a backdrop of trees, railway lines and graffiti-laden walls.  This is West Auckland is all it’s colourful glory.

For this particular visit, we checked out the Pacific Mamas & Niki Gribble Exhibition (due to finish December 10, so be in quick!).  The art works transported me to the Pacific and reminded me of the strong Polynesian communities we have in Aotearoa.

After that we wandered around the Estate and glimpsed at different gems along the way.  A wonderful artistic oasis in Henderson!
