A flock of tweets

anzssa-begin

I had the privilege of managing the ANZSSA social media accounts during the recent conference in Auckland and boy was it a great learning experience.  The hashtag #anzssa2016 became my mantra, with Twitter my platform of choice.

The challenge…  to provide commentary on key aspects of the conference whilst at the same supporting fellow tweeters (or the Twitterati as Eric Stoller would put it) in a fun and light-hearted way.  Excuse the pun, but it allowed me to soar above and provide a birds-eye view of the conference.

What I like about Twitter is that it a condensed and concise way of communicating in 140 characters or less.  Why waffle when you can make punchy statements and speak in abbreviated language?  Posting ‘real time’ tweets required me to listen carefully and to translate it into coherent language (well, hopefully!).  It certainly kept me on my toes and it was a real thrill when ANZSSA followers interacted with the messages.

There were many tweets throughout the conference, but here are 20 that showcase what #anzssa2016 was all about.
